Covid 19 - Safety First
Welcome to our mountain lodge, high up, above the roofs of Zermatt!
We are ready to offer you relaxing moments of pleasure at Hotel Sandbox – with as few restrictions as possible but as many as necessary.
Please note the new entry regulations for Switzerland, effective from Saturday (December 4, 2021).
-
No quarantine list, increased testing requirement: from Saturday, December 4, 2021, all countries will be removed from the quarantine list. Instead, a stricter testing regime will now apply to all entries into Switzerland.
-
This also applies to vaccinated and recovered persons. Travelers from border regions are exempt from the testing requirement.
-
In addition to a PCR test before entry, a second test (PCR test or rapid antigen test) must be carried out between the fourth and seventh day after entry. The purpose of this test is to ensure that infected persons who have contracted the virus shortly before or during travel are detected. The cost of the test must be borne by those entering the country.
-
Non-vaccinated third-country nationals who wish to enter the Schengen area from risk countries or regions will be denied entry to Switzerland for temporary stays without gainful employment of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, with certain exceptions. Tourism and visiting stays are particularly affected.
Please note the new Corona regulations in Switzerland, effective from Monday (December 6, 2021).
-
Overnight stays in hotels, and therefore also in Hotel Sandbox, will continue to be possible without a Covid certificate.
-
A certificate as well as mask obligation indoors now applies to all restaurant, bar and club visits. This means that any catering (breakfast, lunch and dinner) of guests who do not have a certificate is only possible via room service.
-
If you have a negative test result, PCR test (max. 72 hrs old) or rapid test (max. 24 hrs old), or a vaccination or convalescence certificate, you have access to all public areas.
-
A certificate is still not required on terraces.
-
The certificate and mask obligation also exists for entries to fitness, wellness and spa areas.
In order to protect you, dear guests, and our staff, the whole team has been vaccinated. Hotel Sandbox strictly follows the recommendations and regulations of the Federal Council, the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH and WHO in these challenging times. We implemented concepts of not only top quality but also of style and refinement.
We can hardly wait to spoil you in Zermatt soon!
Best wishes in the meantime,
Romain CARLIEZ
Managing Director and the entire Hotel Sandbox team
